Strike the center for a rich a deep bass tone, then play the upper edges to engage the crisp snares. Working your heel against the front plate will bend the pitch to simulate tom-toms. The Primero Cajon is truly like a “drum set in a box!” Construction and Protection - We are using the finest harvested woods found domestically in the tropical country of Thailand to hand-build the Primero Cajon. Starting with the body, we incorporate Para-wood which is a plentiful hardwood known for its resiliency and consistency which when dried is virtually impervious to changes in weather, temperature, and humidity. The body is then nailed and glued to ensure the ultimate in stability with a tight seal to maximize the low-end compression. The blended hardwood front-plate is dried then lightly clear-coated to resist dirt and oils from your hands. Then the plate is meticulously matched with the body for a perfect fit which makes it exceptionally comfortable to play
